COVID-19 Update & Policy
Level 5 Update - 1st January 2021
As of Wednesday the 30th December 2020, Ireland returned to Level 5 of the Plan for Living with COVID. These restrictions are expected to last until at least the 31st of January 2021.
Having taken legal advice, the Osteopathic Council of Ireland’s interpretation of the essential services in Level 5 can be interpreted as including osteopaths under the headings:
• health services in the community
• health and social work services.
What this means for you:
I will remain open throughout Level 5 for emergency/essential appointments.
Emergency/essential appointments will include those in acute pain, those whose condition would deteriorate or result in a decreased ability to function in daily activities if treatment were to be postponed, or where it would otherwise be necessary for the patient to attend a HSE service (eg GP) if treatment were not to be provided.
Patients should be aware that their treatment will need to be justified as essential to travel outside their 5km limit to avoid penalty.
The online booking system is open, or you can call 091 373 200 to book or reschedule any appointments.
I hope you all stay safe during these difficult times.
Procedures in place at Galway Osteopathy:
I have completed the HSE COVID-19 Infection Prevention & Control Guidance course to ensure that I am following all precautions to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.
I have completed a thorough risk assessment of the clinic, and in doing so I developed the Galway Osteopathy COVID-19 Policy & Consent document. This document will be sent to all patients in their booking confirmation email. This document outlines the updated hygiene procedures, social distancing measures, PPE and generally what to expect when you attend for an appointment. You will need to agree to the terms of the policy and give consent prior to attendance.
You will also receive a COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire the day before your appointment, which again, will need to be completed before you attend.
